8 WAYS TO STRENGTHEN A ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIP

8 Ways to strengthen a romantic relationship. A romantic relationship always needs work to be done on it. It is built up. It needs to have a solid foundation to support everything else that would come up later. Even with a strong foundation, it still needs to be checked regularly to maintain a good shape. Depending on the work done on the foundation, the maintenance job will be less or more. It goes without saying that a relationship with a weak basic will encounter more challenges than the one with a strong base. There are easy ways to naturally strengthen the relationship to avoid constantly working on the relationship.

1# BE THERE FOR EACH OTHER

In many relationships, some of the partners are not showing enough. They are so absent that, in the end, their partners feel alone; they do not have the feeling of being with someone. When your partner is never there for you, he/she is always busy, misses important events in your life, and always promises to make up. In the beginning, your partner will show some understanding, but if things do not change, the relationship will go sour. No one can be that busy; we always have time for things that matter to us; it is just a matter of priority. So even if you are busy, try to still be there as much as you can, and make a pledge to be there during the good and the bad times for each other. Be each other priority.

2# CREATE FRIENDSHIP

Some people confuse romantic relationships with friendship. You can be in a relationship with someone but not befriend them. If you and your partner were friends before getting involved, there is no need to worry. But if this isn’t the case, you should really try to bond, to be friends with your partner. It is of utmost importance. It is much easier for your partner to deal with you as a friend than as an outsider down the line.

 3# A LOT OF COMMUNICATION

One way to strengthen your romantic relationship is to have proper communication. Anything that bothers you should be discussed with your partner, no matter how small. Communicating regularly about little things clears the atmosphere, knowing that little things add up and become big. So, you need to communicate with each other and make sure you understand each other. Do not communicate for just speaking, have constructive communication to ensure you are at the same wavelength.

4# COMPROMISE/ CULTIVATE TOLERANCE

To live or be with another person requires some compromise and cultivating some tolerance. You cannot have it your way all the time; if you insist on that, you’ll end up alone, always. So, to strengthen your romantic relationship, you should compromise or learn to compromise sometimes. You should be more tolerant; if you have zero tolerance towards certain little things, you should know to be more acceptant, giving more chances if those things are not contrary to your values and beliefs.

5# CREATE ROUTINES

Having routines highly contribute to strengthening romantic relationships. It is the example of having dinner together; this is when you talk about your days, your ups and downs, inquire about each other, and give advice or comfort. Another example is to go to bed simultaneously; this also allows you, when required to have serious talks, quality time together. Other examples of routine include going to church, going to restaurants or cinema inset days, …

6# NEVER CEASE TO MAKE EFFORTS TO PLEASE

Some partners stop making efforts once in the relationship. That is a big mistake. You should never cease to make efforts to please your partner. You should take care of your appearance and your hygiene. Try to always look your best.

Praise and appreciate your partner’s efforts. Little gifts are always welcome.

7# STILL HAVE BOUNDARIES

As much as you are in for your partner, you still need to have some boundaries. You both need to have some no-go zone. Do not invade their privacy, their space. Do not be nosy about everything around them. Just let them breathe. You should respect each other enough to know where not to trespass.

8# SHOW VULNERABILITY

Showing vulnerability is another way of showing love and establishing trust. You wouldn’t want to show your worst to anybody. When your partner shows you his/her vulnerability and weaknesses, they are letting you in; they trust you. This will not only will awaken your protective side towards them but also will undoubtedly strengthen your relationship.
